PRACTICAL 2: TOPOGRAPHIC PROFILES AND GEOLOGICAL PROFILES.
		Geological profiles are constructed from geological maps. Geological profiles represent, on a vertical plane, the distribution of the rock units beneath the surface. To construct such a profile one needs to project onto a vertical plane the elevation of the intersections between the various structurals contours (blue and green lines on the map below) and the direction of the profile (the line in red).
