PRACTICAL 2: TOPOGRAPHIC PROFILES AND GEOLOGICAL PROFILES.
	Topographic profiles are constructed from topographic maps. They represent, on a vertical plane, the change in elevation along a particular direction. To construct such a profile one needs to project onto a vertical plane the elevation of the intersection between the topographic contours and the direction of the profile (line in red on the maps below). As you can see on these examples, the closer the topographic contours the steeper the slope.
