Draw the cross-section AA'. | The thickness of a rock unit is measured perpendicularly to the bedding surfaces that bound the unit. The thickness is a simple function of the dip angle, and x' the map distance between two structural contours with the same elevation. One of these structural contour is lying on the top bedding surface, the other on the bottom surface. | ||||||||
