PRACTICAL 3: STEREOGRAPHIC PROJECTION AND THE STEREONET.
Small circles represent the stereographic projection of the intersection between the lower hemisphere and a set of co-axial cones whose axes are oriented NS. On a conventional stereonet the angle of apperture of the cones range 2º apart. Small circles represent also the ensemble of lines having identical pitch on planes striking N000. The next slide illustrates that point. Small circle in red represents a cone with an angle of aperture of 40º South.
