PRACTICAL 3: STEREOGRAPHIC PROJECTION AND THE STEREONET.
	The stereonet is a tool designed to analyse 3D angular relationships, just as a protractor is a tool for analysing angular relationships in 2D. The steronet is based on the stereographic projection whereby the orientation in space of planar surfaces and lines can be represented on a 2D canvas. The projection is such that 3D angular relationships are preserved through the projection procedure.
