Transpression tectonic regime involves a component of shortening perpendicular to transform boundary. Tranpressional strain can be either homogeneously distributed across the transform boundary, or partitioned. In the late case bulk shortening occurs in domains bounded by strike slip faults where shear motion (wrench motion) occurs. |
